Time flies...

Wow. I don't think I've ever gone this long without posting before. So sorry for the delay! I've no excuse other than busy. Then busy. And then busy again. Getting ready to leave for Louisiana. Trying to erase the trauma of a trip across the Atlantic with 3 small children. Re-living the trauma on the way home. And then WHAM! Here's Christmas a-coming. And now Colin is WAY more mobile these days and requires a whole lot more supervision. Gone are the days of commando crawling, he's officially all-four wheel drive cruising. He pulls himself up on everything and walks along holding on. One of his new favorite things to do is crawl up onto Tomàs' bed, then up to Eamonn's bed, and grab onto the headboard. Then he can bounce up and down while shaking the bed and laughing hysterically. Unfortunately with new mobility comes new run-ins with gravity and today he is sporting a nice little nick on his left eyelid complements of one of his toys which - surprise! - did NOT support his weight.
Tomàs is flying along with his words. He likes to say everyone's names (including the critters), colors, numbers, vehicles... whatever crosses his path. He repeats a lot of what we say as well, so good thing we've trained ourselves with Eamonn to watch our mouths. Things still slip out sometimes, but luckily they're few and far between. He's gotten more confident with the puppies now, and likes to be outside with them. They've settled down a good bit too and listen more when you tell them not to jump on you.
Eamonn continues to be a crack-up and source of amusement with the things he comes out with. His latest - when he wants some kind of treat, he tells me he has to have it because his leg is hurting without it and his leg won't be the same unless he gets the treat. It's really hard not to crack up at him! He also likes to quote movie lines, sometimes at really inopportune times. One of his new favorites is "Marmaduke", and there's a scene where Marmaduke and Carlos the cat are put into cages for moving day. We were in a supermarket the other day, and Eamonn was sitting in the main part of the basket. As we were in a very crowded line, Eamonn all of a sudden sticks his hand through the bars and says quite loudly a la Carlos in the movie, "I am not an animal!" At which point, of course, I felt I needed to loudly ask Eamonn not to repeat movie lines in public places. Seriously, how do you gracefully get out of that one?!?!
Anyway, here's lots of pics from our visit. Enjoy.
