First airplane ride
James, Eamonn and I recently went to Louisiana for a visit and it was also Eamonn's first airplane ride. The trip was a mix of emotions and events as in the course of two weeks my dad turned 70, my mom's sister died, and Brittany was so sick (suspected meningitis) Angie drove to Atlanta to bring her home from school. But through it all, Eamonn was a trouper. He was an absolute star on the airplane. Before we ever boarded, he was charming the ladies in passport control. We were a bit late to board because one of the women had to call her friends over to adore him as well, as he was all smiles and the consummate crowd pleaser. When she asked how old he was and we replied "just shy of 5 months" she asked "What are you feeding him, concrete blocks?" to which I answered, "he eats whatever he wants whenever he wants!". On the flight from Shannon to Newark we had a bassinet reserved, and Eamonn actually slept a bit in it. We were supposed to have it on the way home as well, but that's another story for another time. The weight limit on the thing is 25pounds, and we kept it to ourselves that Eamonn was over 20 pounds at 4 months old. If there was a length limit I'm sure we would have been pushing that as well. It's hard to tell from this photo how full that thing was, but I didn't want to be the ridiculous mother blocking the airplane aisle taking pictures of her kid asleep. More of the adventure to come....
