I don't have any pictures to post yet, but wanted to let everyone know that all is well and we are having a great time on our little European mini-tour. Although, on the flight from Dublin to Eindhoven Eamonn was an absolute rat-bag. OK, not entirely fair - he was good for a good bit of the flight, but when that grace period was over BOY was it over. I was telling James it's probably karma on me for all those times I've thought, "Jeez, can't those people control their child? What is wrong with that child?" And of course, the famous last words, "my kids will NEVER act like that!" Oh well...
Tuesday night we stayed in Eindhoven, a really nice little town. Our hotel was right on the pedestrian square. There was a really cool old carousel right out the front door that Eamonn and I took a ride on - he really enjoyed that one! Wednesday we hopped a train to Amsterdam, giving us a great view of the Dutch countryside. Wednesday and Thursday were spent rolling around Amsterdam. We walked alot, exploring little neighborhoods and taking in the city. But we also took a canal bus that we could hop off and on.
Friday we drove down to Trier Germany, which was supposed to only be a 4 hour journey max. Hah! Seven hours later we arrived. Eamonn was a champ, even though his car seat wasn't fitting him properly (James fixed that) he didn't complain too much about the long journey. The drive to Trier is unbelievably beautiful. And the city is pretty cool too!
Today we headed to Luxembourg, which was a lot shorter of a journey than the day before. Tonight we meet up with an old college buddy of James' and his girlfriend for dinner, tomorrow we're off to Lille France. We'll be back in Ireland on Tuesday, and sometime after that expect photos and more details!
till then....
