Lucky for us we have a nice cozy fire (oh wait - better throw some more turf on...) to keep things from getting frigid on the inside. The last two days have been warmer (5C - 41F), but it has evidently been a short respite, as tonight, as we heard earlier on the news, is to drop down to -7 (19!) Flippin' brrrrrrr!!!! Also a good thing that I've got 4-wheel drive on the truck - the side roads can be pretty icy, as the recession here means there isn't the money to spend on them, only the main roads.
Speaking of main roads, we discovered this place down the way towards town that has an extensive kids' play centre. REALLY extensive. As in 4 levels of climb through - up - over - slide down - jump in the balls - swing on the rope - and practically every other activity that children love all put into one place with lots of safety net to keep it all from getting out of control. Eamonn loves it, and honestly, so do James and I. There are a couple of slides that are really fun to go down. And Eamonn can't climb up to the top of them by himself, his legs are just too short to reach. Really. I swear. I'm not climbing around in there for any other reason. Seriously :) There's also a small bowling alley, cafe, pool tables, and arcade games. We kinda want to dump the kids one night and go have fun on our own! We took Eamonn today for a little over an hour (leaving, as you can probably imagine, is not the smoothest part of the journey and involves bribery with chocolate). I took these photos the first time we brought him, but this was the first place he went to play again:
